I caught a few small things in your third paragraph-- I would hyphenate "power wielding" in the first sentence and "foreign born" in the sixth sentence.

Your summary is good, but your evaluation is very short. Is there anything else you can say about why you agree with her argument?

Yeah, I would change "first hand" to "first-hand." I'm also wondering about your use of "ancient" to describe the field of medivalism-- for me, that word has connotations of early civilizations, not the medival period.

I love articles that look at gender in a sociology point of you. It is interesting that because society constructs women as weaker, they are more prone to witchcraft. Furthermore, because they are not as intelligent, they are more likely to study witchcraft than necromancy. One question I have for this article is: did the conditions of women at the time also contribute to the change of perception of magic?

I think this is a great review. Nothing caught my eye with regard to grammar/punctuation errors.

Last paragraph - something looks funny with first hand - maybe it should be changed to first-hand, or firsthand?

I like you you include some historical information to augment your reviews (i.e., where you cited Aristotle) - this is a great technique.

I did not see any errors with grammar, punctuation, and think this all flows together perfectly.

Wow, I didn't realize just how many allusions Chaucer makes! If I were you I would talk a little more about the other literary devices that he uses in this passage, but this is a very interesting essay that shows all the allusions!

This is a really cool idea for a research topic, I never really thought about how the idea of witchcraft ties into the topics of a lot of the books we are reading, but it really relates to the status and treatment of women in a lot literature from this time period. I like it, and am now really interested in this subject.

So, when was this book first published? I know it says 2005 in your bibliography, but is that the first edition, or a reprint? I would think it wouldn't be especially revolutionary if it were published last year because there seem to be a good number of other books and articles dealing with gender in Chaucer's works, but if it was first published a decade or two ago, that would be a different story.

The mention of Adam and Eve reminded me of the story of Lilith, supposedly Adam's first wife, who left Eden voluntarily because she refused to be inferior to him. It's my understanding that although the story is not considered canon today, it was thought to be true in medieval times.
